"This painting is titled Silent Stain - not because of the red spot on the green vase, but because of the painted screen behind the vase.   The artist who painted the screen was not allowed to sign the art.
 In those times if a ruling emperor liked a piece of art, he would sign the painting rather than the artist. At the time, this was considered a high compliment.
The artist’s name has been lost to obscurity. But the lesson about the powerful is there for us today."
